The Salmon is a clean and beautiful river and the Friends want to care for its water, its scenery and its own ability to maintain its natural riches.
Current Projects:
- Kingsford Conservation Area: Friends of the Salmon River is partnering with Quinte Conservation for the cleanup and protection of this park area. Work is planned for spring of 2011.
- Milltown: Standing watch for 2 years and current engagement in Milltown Water Power Project on the lower Salmon River
- Research on Natural History and Trail systems in the watershed
- Seedling tree distribution to the public
- Tree Planting Program in Croydon Forest/Pennell’s Creek area
- Education Program: a Water Unit Box which will cover the Grade 8 Science Curriculum on Water, with indoor and outdoor components.
